SUGARBERRIES SLIP

heart bling

He had been lost

ever since he spied

Sugarberries slip,

peeking from ‘neath

her hem like royal foliage

an elegant border

framing slender stems.

He embarked on a perilous

tumble in pursuit of this

slip of a woman,

vain & aloof.

He slipped into places so

he could worship her

from afar. He called her

Sugarberries, and she

slipped in and out of

his dreams at will.

He was amazed to discover

he had slipped and fell into

desire for an unending embrace

and can’t rest until

he has set anchor in

Sugarberries slip.
