new dance

a time will come to

let go the child

let them go where they will

where you have not been

they may bring you what you

have never had never seen

could not have imagined

let them be bigger than your dreams

of them bigger than their own

let them fill the sky with the shadows

of wings reaching for the sun

let them be Icarus let them be Hannibal

let them be

let them be

remember the dreams they told you

were too big to carry and let them be

let them be the thing whispered in their ear

let them ride lions

sleep with bears

eat with their hands

paint the floor red

unlearn

be rebels

shave their heads

travel without maps

they are tomorrow

learn their dance

teach them well

& trust their flight
