Built to carry weight

Image

I will still stand up

even if it all falls down

Stand & deliver

flying over shaking ground

That be my measure

for all you that

 come to weigh

I am good in the storm

My Gods built me to carry weight

Put the world on my back

cuz they know I wont break

Its an up hill battle

but its always been this way

some are born to the struggle

nothing else you can really say

some crumble from the challenge

others never find they way

I was born seeking balance

I was built to carry weight

from the tilt of the head

to the curl in the dread

nothing left standing

if it gets in my way

I got to keep it moving

searching for a brighter day

I cant cry about the burdens

My war whoop break the sky

My Gods built me to carry weight

(you probably wanna get outta my way)

I will still stand up

even if it all falls down

Stand & deliver

flying over shaking ground

That be my measure

for all you that

 come to weigh

I am good in the storm

My Gods built me to carry weight

Put the world on my back

cuz they know I wont break

born and raised in babylon

no silver spoon I keep a hustle on

I can’t sleep cuz then I wont eat

no justice no peace

I do believe that we can get along

but sometimes I feel  the strain

of being held down so long

my survival is surprising

but I stay

invested in my rising

fit for the battle fit

 never had time to worry

 bout the size of it

one direction forward

all gas no brakes

ain’t looking for a break

My Gods built me to carry weight

I embrace my fate

(you probably wanna get outta my way)

I will still stand up

even if it all falls down

Stand & deliver

 flying over shaking ground

That be my measure

for all you that

 come to weigh

I am good in the storm

My Gods built me to carry weight

Put the world on my back

cuz they know I wont break

head to the sky

feel the breeze as I float by

hear the notes to the blues

of overpaid dues

still forever will I rise

entertain all occasions

you don’t always get to choose

you can get knocked down

if you stay down you lose

so I keep reaching for the

higher ground on the path

world on my back

no time to moan trying to get home

don’t expect no one to wait

I thank my Gods

I was born to carry weight

(you probably wanna get outta my way)

I will still stand up

even if it all falls down

Stand & deliver

flying over shaking ground

That be my measure

for all you that

 come to weigh

I am good in the storm

My Gods built me to carry weight

Put the world on my back

cuz they know I wont break
